41 Months- 41 Mesi

(Mom's turn)
In a crazy organizing frenzy a couple of days ago, I found many older pictures of Vittoria that I don't remember taking and that brought so many tears and smiles. Like this one below, Vittoria with her big brown eyes, soft hair and pink skin smiling for a picture. I said pink skin because I realized that just a month earlier, in March 2003, Vittoria had her first open heart surgery and I remember her blue lips (a sign that her heart was not sending enough oxygen to her body) in the months leading up to that. I remember her laying in her PICU bed after surgery trying to get her tubes out and James trying to calm her down. I was hiding behind the monitors where she could not see me so that  her blood pressure didn't skyrocketed. I remember my heart breaking that I could not hold her and talk to her for a couple of days until things stabilized. Oh, how I miss her!! My arms ache to hold her tight and never let her go! 41 months have gone by, but I  think about her every minute of my day and miss her like crazy!! I love you sweet baby girl! This life is hard without you!
Ti voglio bene amore mio! La vita e` dura senza te!

I really can't complain about the lack of snow this year. If last year was a very dry season, this winter we have received plenty of snow and cold temperatures. Jacomo loves the snow and and the fact that it was 20 F and snowing didn't stop him from playing soccer and doing a few runs on the slide.
(a little bit of snow won't stop us from playing soccer!- noi giochiamo a calcio pure nella neve!)

(sliding in the snow- giu` per lo scivolo)

(resting a bit-un po` di riposo)

(James and Jacomo make sugar cookies with Brittney and Luke-James e Jacomo fanno i biscotti con Brittney and Luke)
