(Mom's turn)
Our family usually spends the 4th of July up in the mountains at the cabin, where we watch the Pleasant Valley Days Parade and then in the evening we all gather to watch the fireworks on Scofield Lake. Well not this year! A wildfire, the Seeley Fire, started by a lighting started on June 26, spread quickly because of the high winds and dead trees and dry grass and reached a point where the little town of Scofield, among the others surrounding it,was evacuated. Unfortunately, the fire is still spreading and making the air hard to breath, therefore all the celebrations have been cancelled and all the cabins have set empty on this Holiday when it's usually the most crowded of the year.
La nostra famiglia di solito trascorre il 4 di luglio in montagna alla baita con la famiglia di James, dove assistiamo alla Parata di Pleasant Valley Days e la sera ci ritroviamo tutti quanti insieme ad assistere ai fuochi d'artificio sul Lago di Scofield, ma non quest'anno!! Un incendio, ribattezzato l'Incendio Seeley, creato da un lampo il 26 giugno, si e` diffuso velocemente, grazie al vento, gli alberi morti e l'erba secca e ha raggiunto un punto in cui la piccolissima cittadina di Scofield, assieme alle altre intorno, e` stata evacuata. Purtroppo l'incendio sta crescendo rapidamente e sta rendendo l'aria pericolosa da respirare, facendo si` che tutte le celebrazioni sono state cancellate.

The day before the 4th, James while in Price for work, he was able to go to the cemetery and put the pinwheels and the American flag on Vittoria's grave and with our nieces' help, they cleaned up James' grandparents' and uncle's graves also.
Il giorno prima del 4, James, a Price per lavoro, e` riuscito ad andare al cimitero e a portare le girandole e la bandierina alla tomba di Vittoria e con l'aiuto delle nostre nipoti, hanno ripulito le tombe dei nonni e dello zio di James.

We spent this 4th of July at home playing in the yard and at night watching the fireworks. Unfortunately, James was on call to go help with the Seeley fire and spent it getting ready to go to work.
Noi abbiamo trascorso il 4 di luglio a casa a giocare in giardino e la sera a goderci i fuochi d'artificio. Purtroppo James era di turno per andare a combattere l'incendio e quindi l'ha trascorso a prepararsi per il duro lavoro che lo aspettava.
